|
|
Hi all,
I've got a '94 Vitara, LWB. It has a 2" suspension lift kit, spacers and a front diff drop bracket.
I've recently replaced the CV joints after I thought the lift kit had made them fail, which is why I then lowered the diff.
The problem is, looking at the front wheels as I have it in 4WD, the outer wheel slides along the ground a little if I drive in a circle, as though it's not turning quick enough. I think this could be the reason my CVs packed up before, so want to get to the bottom of the problem. I've not installed a locking diff!
What could be the cause of this? a dodgy diff? Transfer box? Lifting the front up, it feels OK, and the wheels rotate in opposite directions smoothly if I rotate them. What else could I test?
Thanks for your help!! |

it sounds normal, thats why you should NOT use 4wd on any solid surface as it does not allow the transmition to "unwind" thus blowing a cv |
