Simple question, how much difference is there in annual insurance between a stock 4x4 and a modified/lifted/offroad prepared example??? Prolly as right by saying yes it will be more, but if its not that much more I'll feel better about buying a ready to go offroader over a stock 4x4. I know it always pays to be 'honest' regarding insurance.... Might just get a quote from my extortionate insurance company stock and modified to see the difference... I'll post the results here. _________________ Driving a 99' Vitara JX 4U2...

Well... kinda wished I didn't even ask the question! My current insurance company would want an additional(!) £700 to insure a stock Vitara, would be cheaper for me to be insured on a Subaru Imprezza!!... and after being passed from pillar to post and just before I slammed the reciever down! , I was told as a modified vehicle it wouldn't be insured!! I can see now why so many people drive without declaring mods or even with now insurance at all!! I would never drive without insurance as the consiquences of doing so are far to great!! In short, I think I'll be changing insurance companies if I buy a Vitara of any discription....
So, can anyone recommend a good insurer who would insure a modified Vitara with my 'eventful' driving record??? _________________ Driving a 99' Vitara JX 4U2...

They refused to give me a quote!!
Just got off the fone to Adrian Flux, they cover offroad/greenlaning, legal cover etc etc and got a quote of just under a grand with everything declared... again I don't have a 4x4 as yet so I borrowed a reg off Ebay. Quote is fair, gonna shop around nearer the time. _________________ Driving a 99' Vitara JX 4U2...
