crankshaft sensor on a x90
i have been informed by a mechanic this item is in the distributor and so far have taken out the rotor arm and a few covers and now it seems i must take out the distributor as i cant find it yet.also told this is the vitara engine 1590 my car is a 1997 auto.starting to loose my patience has anyone got any ideas.i have purchased the part from the usa but cant see where it could be in the distributor.could do with any ideas...thanks

a crankshaft sensor is normally located near the flywheel so check around near the bellhousing and see what you find.

if you have a pic of the sensor, i might be able to point you in the right direction...

the part i have received is kem and it has a part no 147-724 crank pos sensor,does this help

have a look around the flywheel area, you should be able to see the sensor somewhere there if it has one

did the mechanic not fancy ordering and fitting the part coz its not a very hard job and as you said its the same a a vitara engine so parts are redily available Very Happy
