i have d-flex shackles and procomp 2" lift springs.
i also have extreme ofset rims and cut arches to allow the bigger rubber.
the difference is that mine is a sammy, and his is a vit and the vit cant be lifted by 4" without serious work.
mine took 12 bolts! _________________ the car in front is a toyota...

with 2" spring spacers i have just fitted tonight but not screwed shocker back in yet, because thinking of putting 1" spacers(washers) to bring down shocker a bit more to help instead of it being on 2" stretch its only on a 1" stretch.Would this be ok??
Not to forget i only use this once a month offroading.
Regards |

Difference is i have coil springs and you have carts... last time i looked coils are far better for offroading that carts!

You wont need 50mm!! Not even 25mm! I used 2" coil spring spacers for 2 years without a prop spacer to the rear! Front wont ever need a spacer. You space it too much and it will try and push into the tranny box too hard possibly causing damage on upwards articulation... SO my conclusion is, you dont need one! If you still cant decide, look here: http://www.bits4vits.co.uk/store/index.php?_a=viewProd&productId=27 at how Dave suggests determining what spacer you need...
Oh and referring to dropping the front shock 'bricky2', when fitting 2" coil spring spacers the standard practice is fitting 1.5" front strut spacers and 2" rear strut spacers.. SO spacing the front down by 1" with washers should be okay but obviously isnt going to be as strong as propper spacers like Bits4Vits sell.... http://www.bits4vits.co.uk/store/index.php?_a=viewProd&productId=17
Coincidentally I do have 2" rear strut spacers with NEW bushes FOR SALE! PM me if your interested.
Cheers, Christian. |

the problem you have with coil spacers is that they dont assist with articulation....
let me explain:
if your spring is 250mm long and it will compress to 100mm, then you have 150mm of spring movement...
by spacing the coil spring away from the chasis by 50 mm then you dont increase the ability for the suspension to move upwards, just move it away from the body.
to truly increase your articulation, you need to fit longer springs with the same compressed length as the originals.
its the same principal with shock absorbers _________________ the car in front is a toyota...

Yes i know and agree, that is what i have fitted grand vitara springs to give lift and articulation improvement.
But still coils are far better for offroading!! |

yes, will probably be hard because your front strut will be at or near full extesion without those spacers... same with the rears i would suspect too :/ |
