|
|
I have taken out the 1.3 engine in my samurai, and am waiting for an LDV pilot for its engine and gearbox, i believe it should just let me put the driveshaft from the ldv gearbox to the suzukis transfer box, but that sounds too easy to be true, what else can i expect to have to do, will i have to reposition engine mounts, or adjust the suspension, and what about the electrics |

good luck
if your lucky enough for the gearbox to mount up that easily, youll then need to fabricate yourself some engine mounts, change the fuel system (youll need an electric pump etc) and youll also need to uprate the front springs for the huge increase in front end weight. _________________ the car in front is a toyota...

i just intended to angle grind the old tank out, and put a 5 gallon drum with the diesel in it behind the passenger seat, as for the engine mounts, thats what i expected, but the main question is will the transmission tunnel need cut |

its apparently a peugeot 1900cc engine except conveniently mounted to a ldv gearbox for longtitudinal mounting unlike most peugeot engines, i dont think i will need to do anything to the steering or suspension because i had a 205 diesel for ages and steered it with no problem at all has anyone done this ldv conversion |

if you had a 205 diesel in it, its the same engine block so just bolt it up to your old gearbox _________________ the car in front is a toyota...

if only i still had the 205, its been gone now a good while, theres just a 405 and citroen ax lying around, would it be possible to take out the 405s engine and put it into the jeep, i know it would mean moving engine mounts for longtitudinal mounting, but would it be possible to sort out the gearbox linkage and connect the end of the gearbox to the samurais transfer box |
