Hi all i have just bought a 1999 vitara that has done 80727 miles. When she gets up to normal temp th check engine light comes on. Can anyone tell me why and what to do about it please.

I'd suggest reading the codes, my 97 jlx 16v only has flash codes, I'd expect yours to be the same. there is a plug on the right of the engine bay that requires linking with a bulb and will flash to give you fault codes.

I've not done this myself as not needed to, I suggest you try searching the forums to get a complete explaination of how to do it

as far as ive read, never owned one myself, the o2 sensors and egr sensors are prone to malfunction on gvs.

as stated by tr1cky, pull the codes if you can.
