I've bought a poor little Samurai that is going to need a bit of work. I absolutely love it already and can't wait to get things how they should be.
We play over Whaddon in Milton Keynes in Range Rover's and Land Rover's normally, but after seeing the little Suzuki's flying around, I couldn't help myself, I had to have one!

I'll be posting pics of each stage of the repair and modifications as it happens, starting with the fitting of my Bedford Rascal rear springs and the re-build of the front springs, and the fitting of an axle breather kit, all starting next week hopefully  Very Happy

Here's my Samurai now.

Yeah could have been.
I love Land Rovers (especially the old one's) and the Range Rovers, but the Suzuki's just seem to have more fun and are definitely easier and cheaper to maintain.

I so nearly went for a V8 Disco, but well glade I eventually got the SJ.

Hi mate, It's not all that exciting but if you do have trouble seeing the pics and want to have a gander, I can email them to you, or send you the address on photobucket.

Take care

Alan

managed to glance at the pics from home last night. Looks like you have yourself a good base to start from, already looks more offroad capable than my Vit :p but then again I have the fatboy which isn't the best setup for serious offroading Wink will look forward to seeing how you progress witht he build!

Done a fair bit of work on my SJ since getting it a few weeks ago.

This weekend I gave it a lick of paint, also painted the newly welded in sils, painted the wheels and the front bumper.
It now looks like this:

Cheers guys.

It's took a lot more work than I thought it would just to get it this far, and there's so much more I want to do yet!
Ricky it'll defo be going over Whaddon and anywhere else I can get to  Very Happy
Going to have a look at Daventry 4x4 club tomorrow. The site looks wicked but it's only open on the 2nd Sunday of each month, the rest of the time they travel to other sites and go greenlaning.

Is this what you used? Pipe bender

The reason I ask is I'm considering making some sort of roll cage up for my Samurai and I'm not sure what diameter tube to get if I do decide to do it.
I notice the pipe bender in the link will bend up to 2" tube. Is that big enough do you think?

I was just going try to hire one from HSS or somewhere later on in the year when I got around to doing the job, but now I've seen your damper mounts, I've got ideas about doing all sorts of things  Rolling Eyes  so I might need it for a while and so might be better off buying one.
