Hi can anyone help me out?

I have a '92 Vitara fatboy auto 1.6 8valve single point injection, that's done about 130k, with a twin exhaust (one each side at the rear of the car), now I am NOT driving it in 4 wheel drive for day to day driving and I have only taken in 4WD on our local very easy green lanes.

When driving I am easy on the pedal but I filled it up to the brim and I only got 200 miles from the tank full, so is there anyway I can improve this mpg, as it works out to be about 25 MPG at them figures I might as well have a big landrover or a paj!!  Laughing

in my general experience( never driven a zook  Embarassed ) autos have been heavier on the fuel.

1 of the reasons i dont like em  Confused

only thing i can think to check is, if you jack up the back end, wheels off the ground, stick it in neutral and see if everything is turning freely.

on axle stands and level ground of course  Wink

its your tyres. fit normal road tyres and you might get a bit more

I'm having the same trouble with a 1.6L 16v 92 escudo I've tried everything from additives to driving it like a hearse. so I've figured out that its the tyres. They're the kind you might see on a tractor. The poor little jeep will look emasculated without them so it a trade off between looks and economy. So sad..
