Has anyone fitted a power steering kit to a 94 model 1600 ?

I have just picked up the parts inc brackets, pipes, pump, resevour, steering column and wondered if there is a wiki / how to page for an easy guide to fitting it

Mike

it can be done in stages ie fitting the pump and reservoir one week, pipes the following and steering box last.

if youre not sure, maybe a member near you could offer a hand?

yours should all bolt straight on so it should only take 2 hours MAX Very Happy
bolt the pump to the right side of the engine, remove the rad then fit the pulley and belt, then the steering box should bolt on, run the pipes below the rad then refit the rad, fill with fluid and test.......          simpelz Smile

Sounds too easy... but i have already noticed i have a twin pulley to accomodate another belt, but it looks as though it has an assisted steering box of some kind on the left of the rad as you open the bonnet. does this need to come out ?

im hoping to do it shortly, maybe this weekend,, im just tied up with my other car, and getting it ready for the show season and drag strip.

@ Zocko i do have coffee...by the barrel full, but i understand its some distance to travel

undo the 2 bolts on the big steering rubber just infront of the steering box then undo the 3 bolts underneath that hold the unit to the chassis then simply fit your powersteering box on.... it really is easy Very Happy
