Not sure if I am posting this in the right section or not but here goes!
When I bought my vit (pics in readers rides section) it came with bull bars (but not fitted) as I was told it was now illegal, but I could have them if I wanted them ....well I had them! lol .........but I am wondering now if when I get an sj for serious offroading (dont wanna use my vit to do any heavy offroading, shes way too pretty to scuff up lol) ...will these bull bars fit the sj ? ...if not what advice has anyone got about the bull bars ...maybe I should consider getting a 2nd vit to fit them to for offroading instead of an sj?
Let me know what you all think |

unfortunately they wont fit the sj, but put them onto your vit.
if anyone ever asks why they look so shiny and new, just explain that they are an exact replacement for the ones that were fitted on it from new _________________ the car in front is a toyota...

theyre not registered as with most options on a new car.
its only 4 bolts so as long as you can get the bars up into place, even you could fit them deary _________________ the car in front is a toyota...

Also good to check the tiny print on your insurance. I had to tick a box when insuring mine that it had no BB`s. Hence...if I retro fit them I will have to notify the insurance co. |

They are now hard to insure as the claims arrising from crashes where cars have bull bars fitted are higher than without apparently. That and the fact pedestrians suffer more (tell them not to walk on roads then!)
Cut the ends off and make them into a set of nudge bars |

Well I picked up a nice chunky chrome set of BB`s for the Vit in celebration of it passing the MOT !! They look dead simple to fit.
There are basically two bolts that attach (factory fitting) to the chassis & two support struts that also bolt on. The support struts were already on my Vit just between the bumper & front grille. The previous owner removed the BB`s (to save fuel!!) & found them in her in laws garage after selling the car ! She rang & all I had to do was pick them up from Devon!! I`ll sort some piccys out as & when I bolt them on. |
