My vitara has now started cutting out for no reason what so ever.

If you start it up from cold you can drive it about a mile then it will cut out and die, if you stop it will restart and you can drive away again, for a short time and it will cut out again.

Before it cuts out you can feel a slight splutter, if you try to floor the throttle it just sound like you have a huge induction kit on it and still cuts out....If you dip the clutch the revs will drop to a few hundred and after a few seconds will rise to around a 1000 where you can let the clutch up and go again?????

The problem seems to be worse when the jeep is warm/hot. It will gladly sit and tick over all day it just cuts out when being used/under load.

I have cleaned the tank out, changed the fuel filter, checked the fuel lines are clear and removed and cleaned the carb, running out of ideas now??

Anyone have any other suggestions??

Thanks in advance... Danny

it points towards fuel but youve pretty much covered everything there.

have you checked your coil isnt breaking down under load or maybe the leads breaking down?

it might also be your lambda sensor sending false readings and causing the engine to keep reducing the fuel ratio?
