|
|
Hi, i have just a vitara and im having a few issues, i have had a look on here and some people have the same sort of issue but i seem to have a few!!
Took my vitara out monday for a play and i couldnt fault it at all.
Last nite i went out with a few friends to see how good the vitara really was and as i was driving down the road the check engine light kept flashing and the jeep appears to have a flat spot and splutters.
Whilst driving If you let of the throttle he light goes out and it ticks over fine, if you apply the throttle it comes on again.
If you just sit there (parked as such) you can rev the jeep and the light dosent come on, if you hold the revs around 3k you can feel a slight splutter every now and then.
I have noticed the jeep runs rich and uses quite alot of fuel, could the problem be down to the lambda sensor??? Is this a common fault? Any other problems to look out for?
The vitara is a 1994 1.6 injection.
I have checked, the cam belt, timing and its all spot on?
Thanks in advance |

lambda is your main suspect id say!!
try gendan.co.uk, cheapest ones ive found.
altho it may be worth jackin it up an havin a look at the sensor wiring, maybe tugged it a bit when playing _________________ if its got t*ts or tyres, its gonna be trouble!! |

should be the only sensor on the exhaust though _________________ if its got t*ts or tyres, its gonna be trouble!! |

Changed the sensor and it runs better than it did, still over fuels like hell but at least she runs!!
Have now bought another vitara carb mode,l so am going to sell the injection one....electrics are just to much hassle!! |
