First of all what type of SJ is it?

VIN number starts with JSE = Jap, VSE = Spanish
Can you see the word "Santana" anywhere? If so it's Spanish. Wink
Indicator switch on the right of the steering wheel = Jap, left = Spanish

There are a few other indications but generally there are pretty much always exceptions to the rules so it's really difficult to trust.

Is the rear fog light built into the cluster (Spanish) or hanging under the bumper (Jap)?
Also a big giveaway is usually the brake components, Spanish stuff always has Girling brakes, Jap ones have Aisin brakes IIRC

Problem with SJs is so many bits could have come out of the random parts bin or have been swapped after, the only thing I'd really trust is the VIN number Confused
