Hi folks I've just joined the club and am hoping you can help me out with some advice.

my mates son has a 413 which we changed the engine on and did a su conversion on over the last 18 months, anyway last weekend on his way home from uni the car started making a horrible noise so he stopped immediately and his dad went out to tow him home. on inspecting the car i discovered that it would turn so far and then locked up solid so thinking maybe a valve had gone awol i stripped the head and everything looked fine until i managed to turn the engine and number three piston stayed put! we then noticed that the conrod had punched a small hole in the block and had been hidden by the exhaust manifold and the engine mount.
clearly this engines had it and having failed to find an sj engine locally we were wondering whether any other suzuki 1300 engine would fit without too much bother, we don't want to go for a 1600 engine as his insurance is already expensive enough.

can anybody help?

many thanks to anybody taking the time to read this even if you are unable to offer advice.

Neil
