|

Ok here it is.
I have a 93 vitara that bar wide wheels and fat boy arches it is pretty much standard. The plan is to take my vit off roading all round europe in a small convoy which also include a Hilux surf and SJ (Bit of a size difference I know but is going to be a lot of fun).
I have on order 2.5" calmini sup lift and im making my own body lift either another 2" or 3", then going to put 31" tyres on.
No comes the question, at present I have the standard 1.6 8 valve engine that after 15 years of use and 120,000 miles has seen better days. The poor girl is miss firing and tapping away so will need to be replaced. Has anyone got any ideas of what engine I should go for, was thinking more along the lines of a diesl as they will run better with a constant change of climate.
Also any other ideas on what to look into upgrading please let me know.
thanks very much
Ben

simplest answer is another 8v vit engine.
pug diesel is another option, you can buy an adapter plate online.
or you can fit anything with a bit of work.
though i would NOT suggest the jag v12 as an easy swap. |

I did see one guy somewhere drop in TWO hayabusa engines in his vit, great idea but a bit much for me.
So you would say if i was to find a cheap rear shunted pug engine that would be a good bet?
thanks for the help I will let you know how it all unfolds |
