|
|
I have a suzuki vitara. jlx
i have been doing some calculations and worked out that if i can fit 22inch alloys with 30 profile tyres they are the same diamiter as the standared wheels, but i am unsure on what size tyre width i can fit.
i have read somewhere that you can go up to 255 but then somewhere else i heared you can only go up to 235.
The stock wheel & tire is: 195/80-15
Sidewall = 6.1 inch
Radius = 13.6inch
Diameter = 27.3inch
Circumference = 85.7inch
The new 22inch alloy wheel & tire with 235/30-22 comes out at
Sidewall = 2.8 inch
Radius = 13.8 inch
Diameter = 27.6 inch
Circumference = 86.6 inch
which is only only .3inch bigger (you have about 2inch space each side of the wheel in the arch)
The new 22inch alloy wheel & tire with 245/30-22 comes out at
Sidewall = 2.9 inch
Radius = 13.9 inch
Diameter = 27.8 inch
Circumference = 87.3 inch
which is only .5inch bigger
The new 22inch alloy wheel & tire with 255/30-22 comes out at
Sidewall = 3 inch
Radius = 14 inch
Diameter = 28 inch
Circumference = 88 inch
which is .7inch bigger
therefore i still about 2.6ich gap in the arches but on full lock will it rub.
TO SUM UP WHAT IVE ASKED
WHAT IS THE WIDES TYRE I CAN GET WITHOUT IT RUBBING THE FRAME OR HAVING TO CHOP BITS OFF THE ARCHES OR BUMPERS
(BY THE WAY ITS GUNNA BE 30 PROFILE TYRES THE JLX WILL NEVER BE TOOK OFF ROAD ITS A SHOW CAR) |

just a note mate,
what you have to remember mate that the wider the tyre you have the taller it will be, because the profile number is the percentage of the width.
if you had 225/30 tyres the sidewall would be 67.5mm
if you had 235/30 tyres the sidewall would be 70.5mm
I dont know if you explained this in your workings but i found them hard to concentrate on lol _________________ When the green flag drops, The bullsh1t stops |

I'm currently running
30x9.50/15 = 241/79/15
Diameter=765
on a pretty standard SJ410 with 2 inch extended shackles and wider rims
