don`t mind the shells - beware of my 4x4

furious by nature

well on mine i have `HEALTH WARNING - take care of your life, get out of my way

Like the idea of the malteses cross  Very Happy

Its the worst paint job you have ever seen  Laughing  so some graphics may help hide the fact it was done in a couple of hours and that included fixing a ceased rear wheel cylinder and adjusting the clutch  Wink

I really need to loose the remaining white paint on the inside. Have also fitted a rear seat and lap belts so I can use it on sunny days with the family  Very Happy

Have you never heard of space saver spare wheels  Wink

Q.    If you had a puncture and the only spare wheel you had was smaller in diameter than the rest, Where would you fit the smaller one. Front axle or rear  Question  Shocked  Laughing

Rear gets my vote, the diff would take care of any differences (just like running with one tyre under inflated) on the front it would pull heavily to one side on the steering and be really "interesting" when braking  Shocked

Yup I sure have heard of space saver spares. I even had to use one on my Golf GTi once but I soon got a real spare.   Ever since then I have always had sets of 5.  But wait a minute, your SJ would have come with a set of 5 matching tyres/wheels when it left the factory wouldn't it - but I appreciate that was many, many moons ago.  Then again, I can tell you are joshing me unless you are really short of space outside the back tailgate. Very Happy

And, just to add to the debate I carry a tyre inflator/repair in a can. Wink

Not fun.

The wheels were (I think) Pirellis like the tyres and cost an arm and a leg - alloys were rare then.  That is going back some................1988 I think.
