you should also be able to get a green lane list from your local council.
ask for a BOAT (byway open to all traffic) list, they should be able to provide you with up to date info |

Hey guys, if you go to multi map on google, you can look all round the UK.
If you zoom in abit on where your looking at, you can switch the viem to OS.
If you didnt know, the little crosses are byways and where we can go .
Also there little dots which we can use aswel. |

Hi Mr Giggles
I just checked out the google multi-map u mentioned, with the little crosses and dots? could you be a bit more specific on what these dots and crosses look like...colour size etc, as I have been looking all around the West Mids area to check out lanes near to me (I'm completely new to this I might add), to check them out, and can not find any! ? ..or maybe West Mids doesn't have any?? |

Don't know why i did'nt send a link in the first place, lol.
http://www.multimap.com/maps/?qs=&countryCode=GB#map=55.347,-0.27221|5|4&bd=useful_information&loc=GB:51.509:-0.1261:8||United Kingdom
Then zoom in where you want to look, then on the left hand side you will be able to select OS, Aerial, and Map.
Obviously click OS.
Depending on how far your zoomed in, the dots and crosses will be red (zoomed out). Green when your zoomed right in.
There little crosses which are byways and dots are highways.
If your new to this then there is something els called a UCR (unclassified country roads). These are on an OS map as tiny little WHITE roads.
for example of the byways, when multimaps is loaded up, in the search bit type [pepperstock, bedfordshire].
Once its loaded click on OS.......you will clearly see the red crosses.
Look south of markyate for the 'dots'.
Hope i've helped :S. _________________

Thats great Mr Giggles thanks for the extra info I checked it out and now know what I'm looking for so wherever there are crosses or dots those are the green lanes that you are able to drive along? ... do you need permission or special requirements of any kind to do this? |
