and as for your bump stops mate, I'd leave em how they are as standard if i were you. The bump stop is there for road use mainly. If you upgrade the bumpstop and extend it, you just going to loose the extra travel that you gained from the lift. Keep them as standard and they will stop the axle if it gets there

Haven't had a problem yet with tipping, doesn't really seem any different going up & down hills, the only difference is when it's leaning to the side, obviously with it being higher it's centre of gravity is higher therefore it will tip at a lesser angle than before. Having said that though, it does have much better articulation than before so this makes up for that and it's a load better at really rough ground, I can now keep all 4 wheels on the ground.
As for the bump stops, the rear ones are held in place under the U bolts so these have to be modded as with SPOA the U bolts are the other way round if that makes sense . I've moved the front ones in 2" & dopped them down nearly 3". Still got loads of travel, personally I think they do need dropping as I don't think the spring could cope with that much travel if left as standard.
The other problem is with the front shock mounts as the U bolt plates are different sizes on each side. I just made a completely new mount on the underside of the axle, bit of square tube, cut the shock mount off the u bolt plate & welded to it, held in place with a new U bolt round the axle. I'll take some piccies if you need any help.
The rear are mounted like so
If you weren't so far away you could come and try it out, best thing I've done to it though. Go for it

Looks brilliant mate, youve made a top job.
As i've only just passed my 17th birthday and with loads of time ahead of me I'm deciding to bring the old jeep in for the winter as a project. WIll modify the suspension and bumpers and cage etc. So i'm getting ideas at the moment as to which suspension to go for.
As with yours When I have the axles out I will paint them and I will also Flush out the axles to get rid of any water and dirt that may be in there.
I can also see that you've made modified axle breathers. What kind of pipe did you use? and are they easy to install? Another good thing with plumbing the breather into the cab of the car is that you can smell the burning oil in time before your diff or part of the axle is going to blow. So another bit of food for thought.
But yeah, how do you go about making breathers? Im sure its super easy but I havn't had a close look at them yet.
Cheers mate, Tom |

And also, your diff seems super high off the ground. Are you sure your running 15 inch rims? looks alot higher than mine. I will get my standard petrol tank out and It may look a bit different then. |

deffo 15" rims, think with these tyres the overall dia of the wheel is about 30", looks a bit different with the tank out I guess, I've put mine in the boot, just bolted the guard to the floor and used this as a cradle for it. As for the breathers, just knocked off the caps & used garden hose extended as high as poss. _________________ Lee

I think i'm going to go the Leaf Over Axle direction with my sammy santana. Is definately the way forward. May I ask who made you rear shock mount as of course it's not standard. I'm looking at the Offroad Armory Kit to do my Spring over axle. You get shocks and brake pipes with it all.
I'll probably put wheel spacers on her too to make it that little bit wider. |

Very nice idea mate, works well I take it?
One other question....... who made your shock mount on the rear? Looks like a rhino ray one, correct me if im wrong.
And can you get a pic of the front of the front axle like you did the rear of the back one. Just intreeged on your shock mounts |

Nearly forgot, got a piccie of the front bump stop.
I used 2 pieces of 2" square tube welded together, bolted it up to the original holes & bolted the bump stop to the innermost piece of tube. Think that makes sense but the picture may help explain. I have at the moment spaced the bump stop about 20mm with just a piece of wood to see if it's at the right height. I may remove this if I feel it needs it.
The rear bump stops are just held in place with good old zippy ties at the moment but hey, it works! When I have a minute I'll work out something better!

Why are your front shock mounts at the lower end of the axle I would have thought that as you have SPOA and therefore the axle is about 5 inches further away from the original shock mounts on the body then you would have shock mounts mounted on the axle approx 5 inches higher to put them back at the same distance (if that makes sense) Or have you changed your shocks for longer ones _________________ Suzuki now gone, replaced by Pajero's |
