Hi everybody,
I am Jan Pels, 63 years old and born in Holland.
Since july this year my wife and i have our residence in Palmonostora, Hungary. Down south and about 70kms from the border of Roemenia.
After selling our house in Beverwijk- Holland, we went to our tanya ( a "cottage" for the city-folks) where we mostly spend 2x4 weeks holiday the last 7 years. During those periods we had to fix the most needed repairs. Because there was not a real bedroom, we have build one against a wall of the mainbuilding. After that we had to make a stable for our two horses.
Anyway, on the day the movers were doing their thing, i went for the garage for having a towinghook on my 2003 Grand Vitara 2.0 (petrol) Van, wich i bought a day earlier. Just in time, because i lost hope in finding a good Vitara in Holland.
The cars in Hungary are useually of bad quality, due to the bad roadconditions. My Fit did 85.000km and i know the history of it. And the fact that it's a Van, i could imported the car without a taxpayment.
The city of Utrecht, section Public Works had leased the Vit. Lots of little scratches, but nothing serious. The maintenance, tech.condition, manual gearbox and towinghook were the criteria and i hope i wil have a lot of pleasure with the Vit...
Beside the Vitara there's a 1986 Subaru pick-up 4WD, wich i use for some (farm)work.
well,it was not my intention, but it became al long store. And still i didn't drop my 2 two questions ......
1 is it a common problem that the rear-suspention is kinda weak?
2 A suitable place for the electric connection of the towinghook? (as i have to drive on the dulo (sandy road) to and from my tania, this connector touches regularly the middle, wich is approx.15cm higher)
ps; i will put the questions also in the proper item/topic later on.
regards, Jan |
