Hi all i have a friends vitara in my garage, a local garage couldnt get the ignition to even turn on (useless). I replaced the ecu and immobilser and key with ones from mine because I know they are working, i replace the dizzy, plugs amf leads from mine aswell, the car is turnin over with fresh fuel in the tank, there is spark it tries to start coffs and dies, the leads are as the suzuki manual firing order i have tried the dizzy at different angles but no joy, still the same. Any ideas?? I have done the diagnostics lead cross over which is telling me that nothing is wrong with the car. Im thinking it may have slipped a tooth or 2 on the belt?

Yes I would check the belt or even change it if your going down that road. When its cranking do you have fuel/spark. A compression test might throw some light on it. Drain some fuel and give it a sniff, I am seeing more and more diesel in the fuel lately. Petrol will evaporate out of a container, but not diesel. Let us know how you get on.

Yeah have fuel and spark when crankin, plugs are gettin wet. Its popping and farting, i drained the tank and put fresh petrol in it. I will get the pullys and belts off it tomoro to check the timing, the engine was rebuilt 12months ago.
