Hi guys, Phil from Cornwall (the UK one!), I am in the throes of buying Ann, my better half, a 2002 Jimny Automatic hard top, why? I hear you all ask? cos she can only drive an auto!
She had an old auto Vitara until 2 years ago when, despite its low mileage, started to cost too much in servicing and repairs so it had to go in favour of a brand new Hyundai estate, this is now going cos we hate it and have talked her into having the Jimny (cos I love em).

It's a 2002 auto JLX with full service history, 48k on the clock and all the bolt-on extras possible, I am keen to know of any potential problems I should be looking for, mechanically I'm more concerned about the transmission as this will be a major expense if it cocks up, would a stall test work? also any hidden rust spots to find, electrical gremlins etc, any and all advice most welcome (collecting it in 2 days time)

Looks like a great forum and I'm sure we'll be very active once she's home Smile
