Fuel Gauge reading below empty on full tank

Hey i was wondering if anyone knows why the fuel gauge on my 1988 samurai reads below empty for a full tank and as the tank get lower the needle climbs to half full and at a point begins to go down towards empty again. It would be great to know if it is an easy fix and worth my time as it doesn't bother me too much but would be nice to fix.

Looks like you need a new tank sender unit.
