hi all, new to this forum and asking questions straight away!! i have a customer with a s reg vitara JX and the problem is as follows....
where the front cv shaft fits through the outer hub there are needle roller bearings that support the shaft at that point, these bearings and seals are rusty and worn resulting in play in the shaft-hope that makes sense! my local suzuki dealer has id these bearings as "bushings" and from [his] memory thinks they are plastic not metal needle roller bearings like we have fitted to the vehicle, my question is this.. does it sound like this vehicle has the front end/dif ect from another type and if so what would that be?
i have tried to post the pic that he sent me from his screen and its parts 19, 20, 21 [19 being the bush/bearing]
any help would be great, thanks, kirk.

in answer to your question, as i cant see your pic, is it the bearing in the hub that the shaft goes through?

patience not a strong point!! yes its where the cv shaft enters the back of the hub assembly, looks like a support type bearing with needle roller bearings not a bronze bush like on a 2nd gen surf for instance, i have found a pic on another forum with a choice of a plastic type bush or a needle roller type but my main dealer insists that its the bush type and cant/wont give me part numbers for the needle bearing type, my customer is begining to lose it!!

OK, the reg is S477 KFP its a vitara JX, not interested in the actual wheel bearing[ which from the look of things is a solid one piece type] but the cv shaft support arrangement as described above, i can e mail you a pic if it helps as i cant see how to post a picture here without photobucket or similar?, thanks, kirk.

ok is this making sense? my dealer is saying its parts, 31 31 and 33, but the car looks like it has parts 36, 35 32 and 33, he describes 31 as a bush not a bearing, 36 looks like a bearing to me?? but i cant find a part number for it, arrgghhhh
