HI B4 I start replacing things that do not need replacing does anyone have any ideas with my '92 Vitara 1.6 which has been stood for a while and although starts fine ticks over and revs up ok - go to pull away it mis-fires and backfires through the air intake it does it in all gears.

All I must admit I have not really got too involved so far, I have made sure fresh fuel has been added. Does anyone know if this vintage of Vitara has a scanner socket?

sounds like maybe a coil breaking down under load perhaps?

the vit guys here will probably correct me and point you in the right direction though
