Hi Guys, can anyone advise if a rear diff from a year 2001 GV2000 Manual would be suitable to replace my noisy year 2000 GV2000 Automatic. I may be able to get a complete axle including prop shaft.

Thanks guys.

Manual & autos have different ratios - so the answer is no. Or you could swap over both diffs from the manual to the auto

For your info manual diffs are 4.3 (=43/10 ) and autos are 4.875 (= 39/8 )
The larger number is the number of teeth on the crown wheel and the smaller number is the number of teeth on the pinion-divide the big number by the small one and hey presto it gives you the diff ratio Very Happy

My Grand Vitara is 2006,2.0 16v,automatic.
On start I have lot of vibrations. After close look up I have determine what is wrong.Since I have bought this car recently,it seems that previous owner has changed one of  differentials, but I am not sure which one.I have counted the teeth on cogwheel inside the diff and there is 43 in front and 41 in rear diff.My question is ,does anyone knows how to find out which of those on my car is original,so I could try to buy used one, because the new one is to expensive.Thank you
