OK, the speakers fitted to the dashboard in my standard Vitara 99 4U2 are FUBAR and I need to get some new ones. I read somewhere in this section that some people have 4 inch speakers fitted as standard, this is not the case on mine, they look like 2 and a half inch 2 cone jobbies and I don't think I can get the 4 inch 4 cone speakers I'll probably get today in the dashboard as a direct replacement without cutting the dash or putting the speakers elsewhere.
So the question is, where else do people mount speakers in these cars?? I do occasionally use my car on green lanes so don't really want them somewhere they're gonna get ruined so I'm trying to avoid mounting them on the door cards although have considered mounting some on the rear door card perhaps in the future.
I'm inviting people to post pics showing where and how they've mounted speakers in their Vitara... please?
EDITED - I have changed the speakers to 4 inch component speakers... seems mine were 4 inch when I measured them after getting them out of the dash. So after spending just 10-15 mins fitting them, jobs done! And being component speakers means they're behind the original factory speaker grilles and away from prying eyes! _________________ Driving a 99' Vitara JX 4U2...
