Hi guys, first post so go easy Wink

My wife bought a 1996 jx 1.6 softop yesterday, only £400 so there's bound to be some problems..
1st... a judder from standstill. when driving it's ok. pull up at lights and drive off it's there.. something to do with the clutch i think.
2nd... there are a few bits broken.. where's the best place to buy spares? any scrap yards in the kent/london area that specialise??

thanks for any info.

tony.

Hello mate,

It does sound like the clutch that is the problem.
Also check that the all the bolts are still in the bellhousing where it bolts to the engine. I didn't do mine up very tight after swapping engines and a couple of the bolts worked lose and dropped out at the bottom which caused it to judder on acceleration.

eBay's full of spare parts and also here's a couple of links to online places you may or maynot of seen already.
