Just picked up an 89 Samurai and it has a locked rear axle with a 4.62 ratio. I'd like to revert back to a stock set up and I'm a newbie, what is required to do his Question

Your going to have to pull the pumkin, 3rd member, center section, whatever you want to call it, and see how its locked. If it is a lockrite simply remove and reassemble. If it's welded replace with the same gear raito  pumkin, 3rd member center section whater you want to call it
