well i see rhino ray at brighton says on his website that it's a popular transplant in an sj, so i was wondering? it would make sense, that 1600 toyoto motor makes 120 horses and providing they turned up at roughly the right rev range it would make a vit go very well i reckon,, might give him a ring and find out, but ideally i need to find someone who's done one |

After driving mine with a basic 1.6 8valve that I think is a wide boy don't think I would want a high revving unit fitted, what about a diesel ?Do you off road it? Think I would rather buy an mr2 they are cheap and great cars especially the mk1 tbar lovely white on the bay at the moment not mine unfortunately. Be interesting if you do it though |

hi
ive had afew mark1 mr2,great fun cars, and a great engine but...hey theres always a but...anyway the very first 1600 twin cam engines had fragile waterways in the block, they would corrode internally if not anti-freezed properly then leak,so if you did go this route make sure its one of the tougher later twin cam blocks,
the twin-cam thrieves on revs...lovely engine, and great fun in the mr2,would thought that wouldnt be ideal for the old suzuki...but i guess that depends on intended use...either way i would love to see it and certainly worth it for the sweet sound the old twin cam makes when it comes on the cams
all the best
