Thought head gasket had gone but turns out previous silly old owner crossthread 2 plugs losing 13% compression.
Question -obviously down on power but not so noticeable, but is a *beep* to start from cold and runs like a pig cold - runs fine when warmed up after a few minutes.
Would crossthread plugs be causing any cold running problems or should I look elsewhere?
many thanks
storeton

if 2 cylinders are that far down on compression, then it would affect starting and cold running.

try very carefully running a thread chaser down the holes but be EXTREMELY careful not to get any swarf into the bores

I cross threaded a plug on an old golf once  Embarassed   and a mate managed to rethread it in situ, no need to remove the head, and there is acres of space to move around in the zuk bay ! As said just be careful of any swarf.
