Hi,

I am considering buying a 2005 2.5 Grand Vitara which requires some work to pass the MOT, mainly suspension, bushes, track rod ends, cv joints, leak from the downpipe to exhaust system etc.

Pricing up parts from the usual online retailers is a little worrying in that some parts I had hoped would be available straight off the shelf are not available or things like certain sections of the exhaust are expensive.

I know that I can have certain things refurbished or manufactured but I want a quick turn around not another project so I'd rather buy off the shelf if possible.

Any advice? There must be specialist suppliers out there, could anyone recommend any and I'd appreciate any advice regarding potential problems or things to look out for.

I'm a practical person and would carry out all the work myself but I want to know exactly what the cost of the parts are and their availability prior to viewing the vehicle to ascertain if it is a viable project, I also own a 1983 110 V8 Defender so you'll understand why I want to go in eyes wide open!!!
