Hi. I have bought a 2001 Jimny. completely standard. No modifications. I am intending to go to play days with it. I am not knowledgeable of off roading and looking for advice. I am not mechanical and was advised to buy a standard Jimny and just put mud tyres on it and some towing hooks and just learn driving off road with a standard one for now, because a modified one may give me more problems when I am not mechanical. The Jimny I have just bought has come with road tyres on it but has an additional set of mud tyres and wheels (235/75 R15    104/101Q M+S).  I have been advised by someone else to put a 3 inch suspension lift kit on the car because he said when I go over bumps it may hit the wheel arches. If it did hit the wheel arches it could rip the wheel arches off he said. Before spending the money on having this done, I just wondered if anyone else could give me another opinion on whether its necessary to have the lift kit with these size tyres?

Thanks

Robin
