Hi there everyone.

Our names are Linden and Fi and we are an Australian couple currently driving overland from Bangkok, Thailand to Europe via Laos, China, Mongolia, Russia, Finland and Sweden in a 1993 SJ13 Suzuki Caribian with a G16B Engine. We are doing this drive in the hope to promote awareness of Acquired Brain Injuries and the long term effect it has on people (Linden as an acquired brain injury - www brainasaurustreks com ). We are currently on the border town of Boten (Laos and Chinese border) waiting to cross into China.

We purchased our Suzuki Caribian (basically a Thai built version of the gen 2 Jimny) in Bangkok and set about getting it mechanically ready for the long drive ahead. It runs off Unleaded petrol and LPG. We've spent thousands of Australian dollars getting it into a a mechanically sound beast that will safely take us to our destination! So far this year the car has been overhauled - engine has been overhauled (not a single leak!), the suspension has had all bushes etc replaced. Before we took off a couple of weeks ago we had the brakes and brake lines replaced, new clutch and flywheel installed, heater installed, new Maxxis Bighorn A/T tyres (31x10.5 R15) all round, new modified starter motor so it will start first go, all wheel bearings replaced, assortment of seals replaced, rear diff seal/gasket? replaced amongst many many minor issues fixed and an assortment of spare parts (we have a 3 page invoice for the most recent work done!).

Unfortunately we are in the position where once we get to Europe, we will have to get rid of it. The Thai registration runs out in mid January (can only renew it in Thailand). Since we will be basing ourselves temporarily in Sweden which will require us to import the car and convert it to left hand drive amongst many other requirements (it's going to be to be an expense that we can do without) leaving us with no option but to take it to a scrape yard for its metal value Sad and look for another vehicle to continue around Europe in.

We would rather see it go to someone who would appreciate it for its unique rarity that it is and the money spent on it, whether it be for a workhorse around the farm or for parts to help finish up your project you have sitting around gathering dust. Looking around on the internet I haven't seen another Caribian in Europe so far.

We are open to reasonable offers (Sale, Trade/Swap) and have a bit of flexibility in time to be able to deliver to another European country for the right offer

If you are interested please feel free to send us an email, unfortunately due to crossing China for the next week and a bit, we will be in an internet black out but will aim to get back to you ASAP.

Unfortunately as i am a new member I am unable to post photos of the car on here but I can certainly send via email or have a look on our Brainasaurus Treks website for the photos Smile

Kind Regards
Linden and Fi
