Bought a 2000 4U yesterday for £750.
It ran all the way back home (over 100 miles) without any problems.

Today I gave it a good clean and started the list of parts required:
1 x Owners manual & handbbok
1 x Vitara petrol cap (not the locking flap)
1 x Window winder handle & retaining clip
2 x Rear retaining brackets/clips either side of the rear end of the tailgate for the soft top
1 x Screw which holds the plastic cover in place on the air filter on top of the carburettor
1 x Screw that holds the plastic cover in place in the cab above the central transmission tunnel
1 x Screw(?) which holds the Hi/Lo gear lever knob in place

As you can tell I'm just getting started but have to say that having owned a Mitsubishi J26 Jeep, Pajero, Vauxhall Fronterra and a Ford Maverick this is by far the most fun vehicle of the bunch.
Just over 120 miles cost me £15 in petrol. That will do nicely!

I've even had the top off today.
But that's going to need replacing when I find another in decent condition as the Velcro has gone (which I guess is quiet common).

Looking forward to using this as my daily drive and having the odd bit of soft laning this winter,
Bern

After looking around eBay I have had a call from someone breaking a 4U near Swansea.
But they only want to deal on a collection basis.

However if anyone is looking for parts and lives locally they might be worth a call?

Hope this helps,
Bern

PS Just an observation.
I've never registered on a forum where people look at introductions but don't leave any replies.
Have I forgotten to include something?
