hello all, just been to look at my first Jimny,it was a 2003 ,with the small high/low/4wd selector lever, there didn't seem to be a warning light for the 4wd low range, and when driving in 4wd low, there seemed to be no difference in the vehicles speed whatsoever,so I am not sure if the low range was working or not,in mh old discovery, with low range selected, you could tell straight awayby the reduced speed, that low range wes working. Shoukd the Jimny be the same,or is there no obvious difference when driving that you are in low range? Also, the clutch pedal was coming right to the top, before the clutch engaged, though ther was no sign of clutch slip. I always thought that meant the clutch was due for renewal, or are they all like that.Due to this, and also the fuel pipes under the tank being severely corroded,I dint buy the car, though the salesman said he would see what his fitter said, and if need be would put a new clutch in,but chances are he will try and say they are all like that. Never having driven a Jimny before,I would like to know what the general opinion is on this, thanks Phil. |
