Just got an 84 SJ 410

Now that the starter is getting worst It sounds like there's no compression.

Compression test doesn't even move the needle.

Somethings else is wrong here cause there was at least a positive finger test for compression before I bought it.

Could it be possible the starter is so bad that its tuning the engine barely enough and showing NO compression reading at ALL?

I can see the timing belt turning and blower fan spinning. But still no reading.

Where's a good place to get parts for these things?

Do starters for Samaurai's fit an SJ 410?

Yes, Rockauto is o-k for parts i guess.

Samurai starters fit an 84 sj410. Im going to assume since they look similar in pictures.

I think the engine's turning so slow that compression is a no show.

Compression started giving a good reading once my failing starter began engaging the engine better.

It was spinning the fan and turning the timing belt before, but wasn't giving compression reading.

Probably wasn't spinning hard  / fast enough.
