I'm on the look out for breakdown cover at the mo. Do you know if they recover if you breakdown whilst greenlaning? If not, does anyone know if there are any companies which will provide cover for greenlaning? If not, anyone fancy going into business?

They should ... a greenlane is 'Public Highway' ...

You need to give them a call to be sure Wink

Isn't a greenlane a byway? Not sure but there must be a difference between highway and byway?

An OPEN green lane is a public road - just the same as the road outside your house (most houses!)

i work as a roadside tech for a break down op. we will only recover if the vehicle is on a tarmac road or hard standing, i.e gravel drive. it becomes specialist recovery if the car is off the road (in a ditch or field) due to accedent.

the best advise if greenlaning is to travel with someone else and get dragged back to a propper road. also i believe if your on a pay and play type site and have been off roading you are not covered for breakdown or damage whilst at the site.

unless stipulated in the terms and conditions, the recovery MUST cover greenlanes as they are public highways.

the downside is try getting some muppet in a call center to have the cajones to take your side over the company that pays their wages.
