|
|
Hi all,
New to the forum. I have a 96 soft top and I am looking at putting a turbo on it. It's a g16b motor. I want to know if anyone has done this, also did they have to get a turbo manifold custom made or did they find a suitable turbo manifold to fit?
I have done some research and found that the turbo manifold for a swift g13b is the same size, but the turbo flange would face down and the exhaust flange would face up. Could work with that manifold but would be great if the turbo and exhaust flange were the other way around.
Any info guys would be greatly appreciated.
Cheers!! |

Yeah mate, I have a Vitara G16B turbo, It's on a stock motor, Garret turbo and intercooler, Heltech computer you will need or similar, and custom built manifold, I made mine myself and have made a few for others and will cost about $150 in bits and a whole full day welding it up and grinding, I run anywhere between 6 and 9.5 pounds of boost and puts out 103 KW so it goes real well, Cheers |

Awesome thanks for the info mate. I'd love to see the setup of yours.
I ended up chancing it, I bought a turbo manifold for a g13b motor, fits like a glove
I need to somehow turn the turbo though because the dump doesn't face straight down.
But so far so good. Also, finding a difficult spot to mount the front mount, any hints feel free to let me know.
I'll post some pics of my progression just for interest. |
