Basic mods:

2" lift (nothing difficult, just use spacers)
29" tyres

Why? Because a 2" lift doesn't need any extra special mods (eg. no need to move the diff), and also keeps your prop angles low.
29" tyres will clear your wheel arches without any mods and don't mess up your gear ratios.

After that most important is probably rock rails and some undercarriage armour so that you don't tear up your door sills (doors won't open). The undercarriage protection should include a plate under the diff. And the plate needs to have a big scoop at the front so that the car slides over obstacles. And then a second plate under the transfer box to protect the transfer box/gearbox bracket. I cannot stress enough that the diff plate needs to have a scoop, otherwise any impacts will directly hit your front wishbone lugs and bend them, and the car won't drive straight. Most of the cheap plates just protect the diff with no scoop - not recommended.

After that I would look at some way to recover your vehicle when it's stuck. At first you can just use a long farm jack instead of a winch and some waffle boards. You don't need to change the bumpers. In fact the standard bumpers give you more protection than steel bumpers because they yield on impact and hence absort energy from the impact like a crumple zone. Whereas a steel bumper transfers the shock load into the brackets or chassis turrets (which are not really that strong) and can bend them. But you will need steel bumpers if you want to fit a winch.

After that you could consider 3" suspension lift (needs diff drop brackets, prop spacer etc) and 31" wheels (needs body lift).
