HI everyone!
Being a newby to Sj's...wandered if someone can give me some advice,...based on their experience?
I have got half way through fitting a peugeot 1.5 diesel engine to my 410, in line with advice gained from members at difflok forum.
However, all previous converters have only ever fitted this engine to previously lifted sj models and not hd a problem with the free space beneath the engines' sump...above the front diff assy.!
I WAS NOT INTENDING TO LIFT MY STD SPRUNG SJ..and only have swappes the sj std rims around to increase track, allied to fitting a set of new 215/80-15 mud and snow-type SAHARA tyres.
Can anyone suggest the easiest, safest and reasonably cost-effective solution to achieve this?
Incidently, the previous owner fitted a set of new poly bushes to each end of all leaf springs.....so was wandering, IF it was sensible and /or effective enough to fit say 2", or4" raise-type shackles at the rear end of rear springs and front ends of front springs?...With 16mm diam bolts and poly bushes, rather than 10mm diam, for increased safety, at the same time?
Really would appreciate some help....and then I might be able to finish off my project and use it safely.
