Hi my name is Steve I have a Yreg GV2000, I bought as a project the last owner had driven to his local Suzuki dealer with most of the warning lights on without stoping to check it out, the leaking radiator ran out of water as did the engine, blown head gasket is an understatement, the head and the block were banana shape, but after 20 thou inch of head and block, and honeing the bores all is looking ready to build back up except for pistons thats my next challange
It's worth doing it has allmost full history and only 78k on it, silky silver with 6 spoke wheels looks nice shame about the motor, when I learn how to do stuff with your club site I will post some pictures of her
I am hopping to get ready for the snow???
Thanks Steve |

Hi to all, the ongoing engine build has hit the wall, HELP I need to know if there are thicker head gaskets or shims available for the block, my concern is that after macining the head .020"thou (.50mm) and refacing the deck of the block .020"thou as well, that my new piston are going to hit my new valves if I used the standard head gasket, I have tryed the Suzuki dealer only one gasket available MLS .70mm thickness, I am stuck
can anyone help or put me intouch with info or someone who has more knowledge
Thanks Steve |
