|

Hello all, I've searched a good bit on this subject and found nothing of good substance on the matter.
I'm fixing to, or strongly considering, ordering the 5" bolt-on SPOA kit from Rocky-Road dot com.
The website says this:
Bolton Samurai SPOA Kit includes....
Front wraparound spring pads Rear wraparound spring pads
2- 7" longer front brake lines 1- 7" Rear brake line extension
Front and rear driveshaft extensions Front and rear long travel shock mounting
Front and rear HD Ubolt plates Front and rear custom Ubolts.
Custom height Zlink steering linkage
Optional items for the Bolton Samurai SPOA
Optional 2nd rear brake line for 1986-88.5 Optional OTT High Steering system upgrade
Opt. Long travel RRO Engineered shocks
Optional Rancho 9000 Adjustable shocks
As my Samurai sits right now it is just raised with the springs over the axles (maybe 3"?). I use it as my offroad ride and a DD. But it rides like I'm driving a cinder block down the road. Literally, I feel EVERY pebble. Is there a spring setup, or something I can do to maintain the new ride height I will have, after installing the kit, that might still give me a least somewhat of a smoother ride? Or will the kit have any affect on that? I was figuring with the flex shown in the pictures that the ride might be smoother. But not sure how that will play out. Any experience with this kit or recommendations for another bolt-on that would be better? Much appreciated. If this subject has been touched on anywhere in this forum, I apologize for re-posting it. I just didn't have any luck while searching for it. |
