The subject of 'How to use the 4WD system' has been posted on here time and again... search through the forum and you will find it! First rule, don't engage 4x4 on the move, stop and then engage 4x4 on the transfer shifter and then 'Locked' on the manual hubs.

About the manual locking hubs, yes they need to be in the 'Locked' position to use the 4WD using all 4 wheels. The 2 positions on the hub switch should say 'Locked' and 'Free'. Set Locked for off road and set Free for on road. Simples!  Very Happy
