It would be easier to get the old one repaired!

Thanks Denbo.
That's what I just have done . got it repaired using another ecu from same part number.
Now the red imobiliser light is still o0n. the engine is turning but just wont fire away. is now the issue that the key & ecu need to be recoded???

It looks that way! You will need the secret pass from the dealer, if you dont have it already. And someone with the correct diagnostics. Try and find someone with tec2. The dealers might help, but don,t hold your breath. If you had sent it to be repaired to "bba reman" or "ecu repair" or the like, it would be plug and play. Laughing Good luck.

sorry for the late reply, been busy of late. "plug and play" means just that. plug it in and away you go. The key should still be matched. BUT if they repaired it with s/hand parts, it may now only recognise the other key that goes with the doner ecu.
