I hope this is in the right section !

Hi guys new guy here so please be nice ! I'm really asking on behalf if a freind.

My freind brought a vitara a couple of months ago with the intention of turning it in to a off roader he put on a 2 inch lift got and snorkel and on Sunday went to devils pit the car did well go stuck few times some worse than others but generally didn't do to bad. However comeing home the vitara starts to play up loseing power chugging so we limped it home. Dieing once on the way back and having to be bump started. But no sadly it's dead. The only way to get it even running Is by toeing it And giving it a bump to start but then the revs have to stay up or it just dies plus sounds as my freind said a silly little ped. All spark plugs have been removed and tested And working fine carb checked for dirt or muck. Pretty clean but needing a new gasket between it and inlet manifold. Inlet manifold recently replaced. Have any of you guys on here got any ideas why it's sudenly given up. I know devils pit was maybe not a sensible one but hey it was fun at the time !  Thanks in advance for any help given
