Having said earlier on that my jimny was not running right, and that it appeared that the ignition timing was showing it was 12degrees ATDC. after checking the valve timing both marks were showing to be correct, people kept saying that the belt had jumped a tooth,i decided to fit a new cam belt, after it arrived I set up the valve timing marks and took off the cam belt,as i was about to fit the new belt i noticed that the camshaft pulley on the front of the camshaft moved very slightly,on inspection i found that the bolt holding the pulley onto the camshaft was slightly loose,i took off the pully and found that the peg and pully were worn and were moving on the camshaft resulting in the valve timing running late,I set up the valve timing correctly and then redrilled the pully and camshaft ,i fitted a new peg /locking adhesive/and then assembled it all back together, the engine is now running fantastic,so if anybody has the same trouble look as the cam shaft bolt and not at belts that jump under tension ??
regards.
