are you the kind of person who plods along slowly through the mud or do you point it in the general direction and stamp on the loud pedal?
anyone got any tips or hints for offroading? _________________ the car in front is a toyota...

Don't stop or change up and down on fine shale like pebbles on the beach, just boot it a hope you don't bogg down. Oh and if following a defender pass it whilst laughing as I did the other day. _________________ There not canoes more of a snorkel and aero aid rolled into one |

Depends on what i'm driving and where i am, in the paj i was a bit cautious in the suzuki i point and go , i guess thats why people with suzuki's generally look like they have lost the plot , also alot less to go wrong with a zuk not a lot there _________________

Sorry to revive an old post but could someone tell me the reason behind not using your clutch in deep water? |

I went on an off road experience day 2 weeks ago ... and the advice when going through water was.....
keep pace with the bow wave ... if you drive faster it may flood into the engine bay, and if you drive slower / stop it may me sucked into the exhaust, so if you dip the clutch you will slow down.
It was great fun just trying to find time do do it all again in my own car. _________________ 2003 GV1600 Sport Soft Top. Great for Fun in Snow and sun |

Ahh I see, I wasn't sure if it was damaging to the clutch or not. |

I don't understand why you would get water sucked in the exhaust.
I remember several times when the exhaust pipe has been underwater even on tickover without water being sucked in.
Just bubbling away nicely. |

that is what I was told .... maybe it's the 'back wash' that surges up the pipe _________________ 2003 GV1600 Sport Soft Top. Great for Fun in Snow and sun |
