Hi guys, please can some diagnose a problem for me. The engine cuts out whilst driving and wont start again for ages.

Hmmmm..? na not really...just cuts out as if its run out of petrol...Maybe the fuel filter perhaps..?

Think Zocko means petrol or diesel year, model etc could be a clue when you say as if it runs out of petrol Laughing

its a 1992 vitara JLX..i was driving it yesturday and all of a sudden the engine just cut out. i couldnt get it to start again, although it was turning over it wouldnt fire up. ive been told it could be the fuel filter or the timing belt..??

it has happened before, but managed to get it started after a little while. But this time i cant get it started. ive been told it may be a carburetta issue..

Hi Leashy I had a vitara jlx a few years ago with the same problem and after carb strip downs and god knows what else it was the immobilliser doing its own thing the words of the chap at my local garage £60 later sorted.
