Hi All.....

Bought me a GV2000 soft top, great condition, immaculate interior, 4 new tyres, 12 months mot, and low mileage......RESULT!!!  and for only £750 0n a n X reg plate.   Well pleased.    UNTIL................................

On the way home the engine management light came on............
The heater was pathetic...........
And 5 miles from home it suddenly got hot and boiled up.

So far.....lambda sensor cured the EML, and just bought a thermostat, water pump, and rad cap.

QUESTIONS please for some educated advice as this is my first (and hopefully not my last) Grand Vitara.

1)  do I have to change the timing belt every time I de-tension it?
2) why do hardly any places carry the G20 timing belt kit.....but list the 2.0 diesel kit for peanuts?
3) does anybody do a "how to" guide for the timing belt replacement?
4) can anybody please suggest a cheap place to get a kit?
and lastly,
5) is it ok to dissolve a few steradent or dishwasher tablets in hot water to clean out a possibly blocked heater matrix?

Will be extremely grateful for some answers to these questions.  Love the car, but in this current weather could really do with it working!!!

Many Warm Regards,

Mike
